Combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper, then form into 4 equal-sized patties.
Grate the cheddar and mozzarella cheese, then mix them together in a bowl. Keep the Parmesan separate for sprinkling.
In a hot skillet or on a grill, cook the patties for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip.
After flipping, pile a generous amount of the cheddar-mozzarella mixture on top of each patty, then cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.
Cut the hamburger buns in half, then butter and toast them in a skillet until golden brown.
Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, then top with the cheesy beef patty.
Slice the tomato and red onion, then place them on top of the patty.
Spread mustard and mayonnaise on the top half of the bun, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before closing the burger.
Serve immediately, complemented with freshly fried potatoes or a side salad.
