    Preparation Steps

    1

Prepare the ingredients. Peel, core, and dice the apple into small cubes. Mix the cinnamon with the sugar.

    2

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

    3

Dice the cold butter and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

    4

Add the cinnamon sugar and diced apple to the dough and mix well.

    5

In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and then add the milk. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined and a dough forms.

    6

Shape the dough into a disc and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Slightly flatten the top and use a sharp knife to cut crosswise slits into the top, dividing the disc into quarters.

    7

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are nicely golden brown.

    8

Let the scones cool slightly before serving as desired.
