    Preparation Steps

    1

Cook the bacon slices in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.

    2

Prepare the vegetables: wash the lettuce leaves, and slice the tomatoes and red onion into thin rings.

    3

Season the beef patties with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until a golden-brown crust forms.

    4

When the patties are almost cooked through, place a slice of cheddar on each and cover the skillet to allow the cheese to melt.

    5

Toast the hamburger buns in a skillet or on a grill, so the inside surfaces are golden brown and crispy.

    6

Assemble the burgers: spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, place the lettuce leaf on top, followed by the cheesy beef patty, two slices of bacon, and the tomato and onion slices. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

    7

Top with the other half of the bun, and gently press down. Serve with fries or a fresh green salad.
