In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and dry yeast.
Add the warm water, egg, vanilla extract, and honey. Start mixing to form a dough.
Melt the butter and gradually add it to the dough while kneading continuously until you have a smooth, elastic dough.
Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1.5 cm thickness. Use a large glass or cookie cutter to cut out circles.
Using a smaller cookie cutter, cut out the center of each dough circle to create a bagel shape.
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Boil each bagel ring for 30 seconds to give it a chewy, bagel-like texture.
Remove the boiled dough and place them on paper towels to dry. Then, sprinkle with sesame seeds and poppy seeds.
In a deep pot, heat the oil to 350°F (180°C). Test the oil temperature with a small piece of dough – if it immediately floats to the top and gently fries, the oil is ready.
Fry the doughnuts for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
Remove the fried bagel doughnuts and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Let them cool slightly.
Serve fresh, drizzled with honey or sprinkled with cinnamon sugar for the perfect taste experience.
