    Warm the water and milk until lukewarm. The liquid should be lukewarm to allow the yeast to activate properly. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar and yeast in the lukewarm water, then let it sit for 5-10 minutes to proof.

    Sift the flour into a large bowl, add the salt, and mix. Pour in the yeast mixture, then add the butter. Knead the dough well until it becomes smooth and elastic. If necessary, add a little water to prevent it from becoming too dry.
