Freshly baked banana chocolate strudel sprinkled with powdered sugar

Banana Chocolate Strudel

Banana chocolate strudel is a classic pastry with a modern twist, combining the traditional strudel of old with sweet, creamy bananas and rich, melting chocolate. The history of strudel dates back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where pastries made with thin dough were considered a special delicacy. This version is a special dessert for family gatherings, weekend baking or even as a quick treat for everyday life.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Peel the bananas and chop them into smaller pieces, or mash them with a fork.

    2

Roughly chop the dark chocolate into larger pieces to create pockets of melted chocolate in the strudel.

    3

In a bowl, combine the bananas, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar.

    4

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    5

Lay one sheet of strudel dough on a clean kitchen towel and brush it thinly with oil. Place another sheet of strudel dough on top and repeat the oiling.

    6

Sprinkle the strudel dough with breadcrumbs, then evenly spread the banana mixture and chopped chocolate over it.

    7

Using the kitchen towel, carefully roll up the strudel and place it on the prepared baking sheet.

    8

Brush the top with beaten egg and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

    9

Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving, dusted with powdered sugar or drizzled with melted chocolate.
