Thoroughly season the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, Hungarian sweet paprika, and cayenne pepper, rubbing the spices into the meat.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and garlic until softened and fragrant.
Add the BBQ sauce, sugar, and milk to the skillet. Stir well to combine and create a smooth marinade.
Place the beef brisket in a baking dish and pour the BBQ marinade over it. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 3-4 hours, or until the meat is extremely tender.
During cooking, baste the brisket with its own juices every hour to prevent it from drying out.
Once the brisket is fork-tender and easily shredded, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Shred the BBQ brisket and serve it with a side of french fries or a fresh salad.
