BBQ clams with fresh herbs

BBQ Clams

Grilled clams are one of the most popular seafood dishes, enjoyed worldwide. Popular in American BBQ culture and Mediterranean cuisine, they are quick to prepare and offer a fantastic taste experience. The smoky, slightly sweet flavor of the BBQ sauce perfectly harmonizes with the natural aromas of the clams. This dish is an ideal choice for barbecues, family dinners, or a quick but special meal. The correct grilling technique ensures that the clams remain juicy inside, while the BBQ glaze gives them a rich, smoky flavor.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Thoroughly wash the clams under cold water, scrubbing the shells with a brush to remove any debris. Discard any damaged or open clams.

    2

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

    3

Place the cleaned clams in a large bowl and pour the BBQ marinade over them. Toss well to coat, then let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    4

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Place the marinated clams directly on the grill grates or in a grill pan.

    5

Grill the clams for 5-7 minutes, until they open. Turn them a few times during cooking to ensure even grilling.

    6

Once the clams have opened, lightly brush them with extra BBQ sauce and grill for another 1-2 minutes, until the glaze is slightly caramelized.

    7

Remove the cooked clams from the grill and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.

    8

Serve warm with lemon wedges, a fresh salad, or grilled vegetables. Excellent with toasted bread or garlic butter.
