BBQ cornbread served

BBQ Cornbread

BBQ cornbread is a modern twist on a classic Southern American recipe. Traditional cornbread is an essential accompaniment to American barbecue parties, made even more delicious with cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce. This bread perfectly complements grilled meats but is also excellent as a snack or appetizer. During baking, the cheese melts and forms a crispy layer on top, while the BBQ sauce adds a smoky aroma to the entire bread. For a more intense flavor experience, try it with smoked paprika or chili flakes!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

    2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

    3

In another bowl, whisk the eggs, then add the milk and melted butter. Mix well to combine.

    4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

    5

Add the BBQ sauce and grated cheddar cheese, then gently fold them into the batter until evenly distributed.

    6

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

    7

Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

    8

Let the cornbread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove it and place it on a wire rack to cool completely.

    9

Slice and serve! It's excellent alongside grilled dishes or enjoyed on its own.
