Peel the onions and cut them into thick rings. Gently separate the rings.
In a bowl, mix together the flour, BBQ seasoning blend, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk. Pour the breadcrumbs into a third bowl.
Dip the onion rings first into the seasoned flour, then into the egg mixture, and finally into the breadcrumbs. Make sure each ring is well coated.
In a large skillet or pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches about 340°F (170°C).
Fry the onion rings until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Before serving, drizzle with BBQ sauce or serve with it as a dipping sauce.
