BBQ grilled chickpea patties served

BBQ Grilled Chickpea Patties

Grilled chickpea patties are a fantastic vegetarian alternative to traditional meat patties. The natural protein content and rich flavor of chickpeas perfectly complement the smoky BBQ aroma. Smoked paprika and ground cumin add a deeper, more distinctive flavor, while the crispy crust that forms during grilling makes this dish even more exciting. This recipe is an ideal choice for barbecue parties, healthy lunches, or a light dinner. To make it even richer, try it with avocado sauce or yogurt dressing.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Drain the cooked chickpeas and mash them with a fork or in a food processor until you have a slightly chunky mixture.

    2

Finely chop the onion and garlic, then add them to the chickpeas. Stir in the finely chopped parsley.

    3

Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, ground cumin, salt, and pepper. Add the breadcrumbs to help bind the mixture.

    4

Mix well, then form into about 6-8 patties. If the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.

    5

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, and brush both sides of the patties with a little olive oil.

    6

Place the chickpea patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy on the outside.

    7

Before serving, sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with a light salad or homemade dipping sauce.
