BBQ grilled pork belly served

BBQ Grilled Pork Belly

Grilled pork belly is one of the most delicious grilled dishes, offering the perfect combination of smoky and juicy flavors. In American BBQ traditions, slow cooking of bacon is particularly popular, as the fattier parts slowly melt out, leaving the meat tender and juicy. Adding BBQ glaze gives the pork belly an even more intense flavor and caramelized exterior. Tip: For an even crispier exterior, sear at a higher temperature during the last few minutes to caramelize the glaze!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Cut the pork belly into slices about ½ inch thick. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 20 minutes.

    2

In a small bowl, combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and brown sugar.

    3

Rub the pork belly slices with olive oil, then evenly sprinkle with the spice mixture.

    4

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (approximately 350-400°F or 180-200°C). If using a charcoal grill, allow the charcoal to burn until completely glowing.

    5

Place the pork belly slices on the grill rack and cook for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

    6

In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and honey. During the last 2 minutes of grilling, start brushing the pork belly with this mixture.

    7

During the last minute, brush the pork belly with BBQ sauce and continue grilling until it caramelizes slightly.

    8

Remove the pork belly from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Serve with fresh vegetables or toasted bread.
