BBQ grilled sturgeon with fresh herbs

BBQ Grilled Sturgeon

Grilled sturgeon is one of the most popular freshwater fish dishes, enjoyed worldwide. The meaty texture of sturgeon is perfect for grilling, as it retains its moisture and provides an intense flavor. The slightly sweet and smoky aroma of BBQ sauce perfectly complements the natural taste of the sturgeon. This dish is an ideal choice for barbecues, family dinners, or a light summer lunch. The correct cooking technique ensures that the fish remains slightly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Rinse the sturgeon fillets thoroughly with cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

    2

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, honey, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

    3

Generously coat the sturgeon fillets with the BBQ marinade and let them rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    4

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and place the sturgeon directly on the grill grates.

    5

Grill the sturgeon for 5-6 minutes on one side, then carefully flip and grill for another 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.

    6

During the last minute, brush a thin layer of extra BBQ sauce over the sturgeon and grill for another 30 seconds to allow the glaze to caramelize slightly.

    7

Remove the grilled sturgeon from the grill and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley.

    8

Serve warm with lemon wedges, a fresh salad, or grilled vegetables. It's also excellent with toasted bread or steamed rice.
