BBQ grilled tofu steak served

BBQ Grilled Tofu Steak

Grilled tofu steak is a fantastic alternative for those following a meat-free diet. Tofu has a neutral flavor, making it perfect for absorbing the smoky BBQ marinade. Grilling gives it a crispy exterior and juicy interior, making it an excellent substitute for traditional meat dishes. The combination of smoked paprika, soy sauce, and lemon juice adds a deeper, more complex flavor. This recipe is an ideal choice for barbecue parties, vegetarian dinners, or as a light summer dish. For an even more exciting meal, try pairing it with grilled vegetables or avocado salad.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Drain the tofu and press out any excess moisture with paper towels. Cut into thick slices, about 2 cm thick, so they are stable for grilling.

    2

In a bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, smoked paprika, honey, lemon juice, and black pepper.

    3

Place the tofu slices in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, or up to 1 hour in the refrigerator for optimal flavor absorption.

    4

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and grease the grates with a little oil to prevent the tofu from sticking.

    5

Place the tofu slices on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until grill marks appear and they are slightly crispy.

    6

After grilling, sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately as a side dish or a standalone main course.
