    Preparation Steps

    1

Thoroughly wash the zucchinis, then slice them lengthwise into ¼-inch thick slices. If they are smaller, cut them into rounds.

    2

In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. This will be your marinade.

    3

Place the zucchini slices in a large bowl and brush both sides with the marinade. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to absorb.

    4

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill grate, lightly oil it to prevent the zucchini from sticking.

    5

Place the zucchini slices on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until they have nice grill marks and are slightly tender but still crisp.

    6

During the last minute of grilling, brush the zucchini with BBQ sauce, then cook for another minute to allow the sauce to caramelize slightly.

    7

Remove the zucchini from the grill and sprinkle with fresh basil before serving. Serve warm, as a side dish or as a main course.
