    Preparation Steps

    1

Pre-cook the lasagna pasta sheets in hot, salted water according to package directions. Set aside to cool slightly.

    2

Finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté in olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until softened. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.

    3

Stir in the tomato puree, salt, pepper, and oregano. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

    4

Grate the Parmesan cheese. Cut the mozzarella cheese into small pieces.

    5

Spread a thin layer of Bolognese sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Top with a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by a layer of Bolognese sauce, grated Parmesan cheese, and mozzarella cheese.

    6

Repeat the layers until all the ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

    7

Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 30-40 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and lightly golden brown.

    8

Let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired.
