7 g Dry yeast
1 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Salt
250 ml Lukewarm water
50 g Melted butter
3 tbsp Baking soda
2 tsp Caraway seeds

    Preparation Steps

    In a bowl, combine the flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the lukewarm water and melted butter, then mix well.

    Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If necessary, add a little more flour. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

    Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Roll each piece into a long rope, then shape them into classic pretzels.

    In a large pot, bring 1 liter of water to a boil, then remove from heat and carefully stir in the baking soda (be careful, it will foam!).

    Dip the pretzels individually into the baking soda water for 30 seconds, then transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Sprinkle the tops of the pretzels with fresh caraway seeds, making sure they adhere evenly.

    Bake the pretzels in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown. Best served fresh.
