Carne Asada Taco with grilled beef, cilantro, and guacamole

Carne Asada Taco

Carne Asada Taco is a classic Mexican street food, made special by the combination of the beef's intense grilled flavor and the fresh, crunchy vegetables. The term 'carne asada' means 'grilled meat' in Spanish, and in Mexico, it is traditionally marinated with lime and spices, then grilled on a hot grill. The freshly grilled beef is cut into thin strips and placed in a tortilla, which is topped with cilantro, onion, tomato, and guacamole. This dish is the perfect choice for a light yet flavorful Mexican dinner.

    1

Slice the beef into thin pieces, then mix with the marinade ingredients: orange juice, lime juice, olive oil, crushed garlic, ground cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

    2

Let the beef marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator.

    3

In a hot grill pan or on a grill, cook the beef for 3-4 minutes per side, until caramelized on the outside and juicy on the inside.

    4

Let the beef rest for 5 minutes, then slice into thin strips.

    5

Lightly toast the corn tortillas in a dry pan to keep them pliable.

    6

Serve the grilled beef on the tortillas, topped with chopped red onion, fresh cilantro, and diced tomatoes. Serve with guacamole and lime wedges.
