In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
Divide the meat into four equal portions and form into patties.
Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat and brush with a little olive oil.
Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until nicely browned.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.
Halve the hamburger buns and lightly toast them in a dry skillet or on the grill.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun and top with a lettuce leaf.
Place the cheeseburger patty on top of the lettuce.
Add tomato slices, red onion rings, and pickled cucumber slices.
Drizzle ketchup and mustard over the burger, then top with the other half of the bun.
Serve immediately with French fries or a fresh salad.
