Grate the cheese and stir it into the milk and egg yolk mixture.
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the cheese mixture.
Grease a soufflé dish with butter and pour in the cheese mixture.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the soufflé has risen nicely and is golden brown.
Once done, let it cool slightly before serving warm.
