In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder.
Add the butter and cut it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir in the sour cream and half of the grated cheese. Knead until a smooth dough forms.
Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes to rest.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Roll out the dough to a thickness of approximately 1/4 inch (0.5 cm). Cut the dough into long, thin strips.
Place the cheese straws on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg and sprinkle with the remaining grated cheese.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
