Peel and grate the apples into a bowl. Add the granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon, then mix well.
In a separate bowl, mash the sweetened chestnut puree and mix in the ground walnuts for an even richer filling.
Lay out the strudel leaves and brush each one individually with melted butter to ensure a crispy strudel.
Sprinkle a thin layer of breadcrumbs over the buttered leaves; this will absorb any moisture from the filling.
Evenly distribute the apple mixture and the chestnut-walnut filling along the edge of the strudel leaves, then carefully roll them up.
Place the prepared strudels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, and brush the tops with melted butter to achieve a beautiful golden-brown color.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until the strudels are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving.
