500 g All-purpose flour
7 g Dry yeast
1 tbsp Sugar
2 tsp Salt
250 ml Lukewarm water
50 g Melted butter
1 Fresh chili pepper
3 tbsp Baking soda

    Preparation Steps

    In a large bowl, combine the flour, dry yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the lukewarm water and melted butter, then mix until a smooth dough forms.

    Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes, until it becomes elastic and smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

    Divide the risen dough into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a long rope, then shape into pretzel shapes.

    Bring 1 liter of water to a boil, remove from heat, and stir in the baking soda (be careful, it will fizz!).

    Dip each pretzel in the baking soda water for 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    Finely chop the fresh chili pepper and sprinkle it over the pretzels. If you like spicy flavors, you can add a little extra chili.

    Bake the pretzels in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes, until golden brown and crispy. Best served fresh.
