Chocolate rice pudding served

Chocolate Rice Pudding

Chocolate rice pudding is a special and rich dessert, a sweeter, chocolatey take on traditional milk rice. It’s inspired by classic rice puddings, popular worldwide. The secret is high-quality dark chocolate and slow cooking, helping the rice absorb the flavors for a silky, creamy result. For an even richer experience, try it with a pinch of cinnamon or orange zest. This dessert is perfect for chilly evenings or as a special dinner finale. It’s delicious both warm and cold, and the grated chocolate or whipped cream only make it more special.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Rinse the rice in cold water to remove excess starch, which will make the dessert creamier.

    2

In a medium saucepan, bring the milk to a simmer over medium heat. Add a pinch of salt and the sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

    3

Add the rice to the hot milk and cook over low heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring constantly, until the rice is tender and the milk has thickened.

    4

Once the rice is cooked, add the chopped dark chocolate, butter, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

    5

Let the chocolate rice pudding sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld. If needed, add a little more milk to reach the desired consistency.

    6

Serve warm or cold. Garnish with grated chocolate and whipped cream for an extra creamy treat.
