    Preparation Steps

    1

Prepare the ingredients. Let the butter soften at room temperature for easier handling. Whisk the egg with the granulated sugar and vanilla sugar until combined.

    2

In a bowl, combine the flour, ground cinnamon, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. This will be your dry mixture.

    3

Add the whisked egg and softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. If needed, add a little extra flour to prevent the dough from being too sticky.

    4

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

    5

Once the dough has rested, roll it out to about 5 mm (approximately 1/4 inch) thick on a lightly floured surface. Use a cookie cutter to cut out the Linzer cookies. Cut out a small circular hole in the center of half of the formed cookies, to allow the jam to peek through.

    6

Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.

    7

After the cookies have cooled, spread jam on the whole cookies and top with the cookies with the hole. Sprinkle the assembled cookies with cinnamon for an even more tempting look.
