When the patties are almost cooked through, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese. Cover the skillet and let the cheese melt.
Toast the sesame seed burger buns until the cut sides are golden brown and slightly crispy.
Wash the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomatoes and red onion into thin rings.
Assemble the burgers: Spread ketchup on the bottom bun. Top with lettuce, the cheesy beef patty, tomato slices, red onion rings, and pickle slices.
Spread mustard on the top bun and close the burger. Serve immediately with fries or a fresh green salad.
