In a bowl, combine the cottage cheese with the sugar, vanilla sugar, egg, grated lemon zest, and sour cream. If desired, add the raisins.
Brush one sheet of strudel leaves with oil, then place another sheet on top. Brush this sheet with oil as well, and continue until you have 4 layers.
Spread the cottage cheese filling along one edge of the layered strudel leaves, then roll up tightly.
Place the strudel in a greased baking pan and brush with oil.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
