Warm the milk and crumble the yeast into it. Add a teaspoon of sugar and let it bloom for 10 minutes.
In a bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the bloomed yeast mixture, the egg, and the melted butter. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces and add it to the dough. Pour in the heavy cream and mix well to combine.
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Once the dough has risen, divide it into 12 equal portions and shape them into pretzel shapes.
Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let them proof for another 15 minutes.
Brush the pretzels with beaten egg and sprinkle with brown sugar. This will create a delicious, caramelized layer on top.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake the pretzels for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
