Slice the lemons and place them in a large bowl along with the elderflowers.
Bring the water to a boil, then add the sugar, stirring until completely dissolved.
Allow the sugar syrup to cool until lukewarm, then stir in the citric acid.
Pour the lukewarm sugar syrup over the elderflowers and lemons, and stir gently to combine.
Cover the bowl and let it steep in a cool place for 2-3 days, stirring occasionally.
Strain the cordial through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into clean bottles.
Store in a cool, dark place, and dilute with water to taste before serving.
