The Fruit Tart is a light, refreshing dessert that's perfect for any time of year. The base of the tart is usually a sponge cake, which is generously covered with cream and then topped with fresh fruit. This sweet treat is incredibly versatile, as the fruit changes seasonally, offering a different flavor profile each time. Fruit tart is a favorite dessert during the summer months, but it's also often made in the winter with candied fruits. The tart is especially popular on hot summer days when we crave a cooling dessert.
This colorful and delicious dessert is the perfect choice for any family event, birthday, or festive dinner.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter, egg, and baking powder. Knead until a dough forms, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough and place it into a greased and floured tart pan. Prick the bottom with a fork in several places. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Meanwhile, prepare the vanilla cream: whisk the pudding mix with the milk, and cook over medium heat until thickened. Let it cool completely, then spread it evenly over the cooled tart crust.
Arrange the fresh fruit attractively over the vanilla cream.
Prepare the cake glaze according to the package instructions, then pour it over the fruit. Refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours to set.
Serve the fruit tart chilled, sliced.
