Gingerbread with christmas shapes

Gingerbread

The history of gingerbread dates back to the Middle Ages, when honey-sweetened cakes were first made. Originally flavored with herbs, it was often used as decoration or as a gift. Today, gingerbread has become a symbol of Christmas, especially in Europe, where it can be found in various shapes and flavors. Tradition has it that gingerbread is made with children to create a festive atmosphere.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    2

In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and baking soda.

    3

In a separate saucepan, melt the honey and butter over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the eggs.

    4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough briefly until smooth.

    5

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes. Place the gingerbread shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.

    6

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
