Combine the ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic, and Hungarian sweet paprika. Form into 4 equal-sized patties. TIP: The paprika adds a unique flavor to the patties; use a smoked version for an even richer taste.
Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush with olive oil and cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Cover the pan to allow the cheese to melt beautifully.
Toast the cut sides of the hamburger buns in the grill pan until crispy.
Prepare the vegetables: slice the bell pepper, tomatoes, and red onion.
Assemble the burgers: Place the cheesy patty on the bottom bun, spread a little Erős Pista on top, then add the bell pepper, tomatoes, and red onion. Top with the other half of the bun.
Serve hot with a fresh salad or french fries. TIP: Offer extra Erős Pista or a sour cream dip on the side.
