Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a cake pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, ground walnuts, and baking powder.
In another bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Then, add the honey, vanilla extract, and grated lemon zest.
Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Meanwhile, prepare the honey glaze: Heat the honey over low heat until liquid, but do not boil.
Once the cake has baked and cooled, drizzle the honey glaze over the top and let it soak in.
Decorate the cake with walnut halves and lemon zest. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes before serving.
