Grilled ginger tofu served with sesame seeds and cilantro

Grilled Ginger Tofu

Tofu is an excellent source of protein in a plant-based diet and absorbs the flavors of spices and marinades exceptionally well. The freshness and slight spiciness of ginger create a perfect harmony with the soy sauce and the toasted aroma of sesame seeds. During grilling, the tofu develops a golden-brown crust that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. This dish is not only easy to prepare but also very healthy and can be combined with any side dish. It's best served as a light but nutritious dinner with steamed rice or fresh vegetables.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Press the tofu firmly with paper towels to remove excess moisture, then cut into thick slices.

    2

In a bowl, combine the grated ginger, minced garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, honey, and lemon juice.

    3

Place the tofu slices in the marinade and let them sit for at least 15 minutes, allowing them to absorb the flavors.

    4

Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat. Grill the marinated tofu for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly charred.

    5

Transfer the grilled tofu to a serving dish and sprinkle with sesame seeds and fresh cilantro.

    6

Serve with steamed rice or fresh vegetables, drizzled with any remaining marinade.
