In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked lentils, chopped onion, crushed garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, cumin, Hungarian sweet paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
Shape the mixture into 4 equally sized patties. Ensure the patties are not too thick for grilling.
Preheat the grill to medium heat and grease the grill grates. Grill the burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Lightly toast the insides of the burger buns on the grill until slightly crisp.
Assemble the burgers: place a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, top with the grilled lentil burger, followed by tomato slices and onion rings. Drizzle with ketchup or mustard, and top with the upper bun.
Serve hot, accompanied by french fries or a salad.
