Prepare the ingredients. Set aside the hazelnut spread in a bowl.
In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
Dice the cold butter and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add the hazelnut spread to the dough and mix thoroughly.
In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, then add the milk. Gradually add the egg mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
Shape the dough into a disc and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Slightly flatten the top and use a sharp knife to cut crosswise slits into the dough.
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown.
Let the scones cool slightly before serving as desired.
