Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a cake pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing and flouring it.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
Add the honey, vanilla extract, and milk, and mix until smooth.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and free of lumps.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the cream: whisk together the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread the cream over the top and sides of the cake.
Garnish the cake with ground walnuts or other desired toppings, then refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving.
