Preheat a stemmed glass with hot water to keep the coffee warm longer. Then, discard the water.
Brew a strong coffee and pour it into the preheated glass.
Add the brown sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
Pour in the Irish whiskey, then gently stir to combine with the coffee.
Using the back of a spoon, carefully layer the whipped cream on top of the coffee so it doesn't mix with the liquid. Hold the spoon just above the surface of the coffee and gently pour the whipped cream over it.
Garnish the top with chocolate shavings or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
Serve immediately, enjoying the layered combination of coffee and whipped cream!
