Italian burger with pesto and mozzarella

Italian Burger

The Italian burger is a fusion of the classic American burger and Italian gastronomy. The freshness of mozzarella, pesto, and basil creates a perfect harmony with the juicy beef. Italian cuisine is famous for its natural, high-quality ingredients, and this burger reflects that. The first burgers of this type became popular in Italy in the early 2000s, when American fast-food restaurants began incorporating Mediterranean ingredients into their menus. If you love Italian flavors, you should definitely try this burger!

    Preparation Steps

    1

Thinly slice the tomato, slice the mozzarella, and wash the fresh basil.

    2

In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into two equally sized patties.

    3

Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and cook the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through.

    4

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella on top of each patty to allow it to melt beautifully.

    5

Halve the hamburger buns and toast the cut sides in a dry skillet or on the grill for about 1 minute, until golden brown.

    6

Spread pesto on the bottom half of each bun, then top with arugula and a cooked beef patty.

    7

Add the tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.

    8

Drizzle with balsamic glaze, then cover with the top half of the bun.

    9

Serve immediately to enjoy the perfect harmony of flavors.
