Thinly slice the tomato, slice the mozzarella, and wash the fresh basil.
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with the minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into two equally sized patties.
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Add a little olive oil and cook the beef patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, until nicely browned and cooked through.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella on top of each patty to allow it to melt beautifully.
Halve the hamburger buns and toast the cut sides in a dry skillet or on the grill for about 1 minute, until golden brown.
Spread pesto on the bottom half of each bun, then top with arugula and a cooked beef patty.
Add the tomato slices and fresh basil leaves.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze, then cover with the top half of the bun.
