Carefully ignite the rum-soaked sugar cubes and let the caramelized sugar drip slowly into the wine mixture below.
Once all the sugar has melted, stir the mixture thoroughly and let it rest for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
Strain the drink to remove the spices and fruit, pour into glasses, and serve warm.
