Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic until softened and translucent.
Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in the tomato paste, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, oregano, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange a layer of lasagna sheets over the sauce.
Layer the meat sauce, béchamel sauce, and lasagna sheets until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of béchamel sauce on top.
Sprinkle the top with grated mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will make it easier to cut.
