Freshly baked lavender strudel dusted with powdered sugar

Lavender Apple Strudel

Lavender Apple Strudel is a truly special dessert that combines the fragrance of lavender with the sweetness of apple filling and crispy strudel pastry. Lavender has long been used as a spice in pastry, which not only gives a pleasant aroma but also a unique, slightly floral flavor to sweets. Among the traditional strudels, the lavender version adds a modern twist to the classic Hungarian pastry. This recipe is a perfect choice for special occasions or a relaxing afternoon tea.

    Preparation Steps

    1

Peel and grate the apples, then squeeze out any excess liquid.

    2

In a bowl, combine the grated apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, vanilla sugar, lemon juice, and dried lavender. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

    3

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    4

Lay one sheet of strudel dough on a clean kitchen towel and brush it thinly with vegetable oil. Place another sheet of strudel dough on top and repeat the oiling.

    5

Sprinkle the strudel dough with breadcrumbs, then evenly distribute the lavender apple filling over it.

    6

Using the kitchen towel, carefully roll up the strudel and place it on the prepared baking sheet.

    7

Brush the top with beaten egg and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.

    8

Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
