Mandarin sorbet homemade refreshing dessert

Mandarin Sorbet

Mandarin sorbet is a classic Mediterranean dessert, a favorite for those who love citrus flavors. The sweet and tangy balance of mandarin perfectly complements the cooling texture of sorbet, inspired by Italian cuisine. In ancient Rome, the first icy sweets were made with honey and snow, while the modern version is made with sugar syrup and fresh mandarin juice. Imagine a spoonful of mandarin sorbet melting in your mouth, refreshing and invigorating with every bite!

    Preparation Steps

    1

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 5 minutes.

    2

Zest the mandarin, then juice it. Strain the juice to remove any seeds and pulp.

    3

Allow the sugar syrup to cool to room temperature. Stir in the mandarin juice and zest.

    4

Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.

    5

Every 30 minutes, scrape the sorbet with a fork to create an icy, crystalline texture. Repeat this process 3-4 times until fully frozen.

    6

Before serving, let the sorbet stand at room temperature for 5 minutes to make it easier to scoop. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
