    Preparation Steps

    1

Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water 2-3 times until the water runs clear. This helps remove excess starch, resulting in fluffier rice.

    2

In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil with a pinch of salt.

    3

Once the water is boiling, add the rinsed rice. Stir once, then reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan.

    4

Cook the rice covered for 12-15 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed. Do not stir during cooking!

    5

When the rice is cooked, remove from the heat and let it stand covered for another 5 minutes. This helps the grains to soften perfectly.

    6

In a small saucepan, melt the butter, then stir in the maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Heat through for a few minutes, but do not boil.

    7

Pour the sweet maple syrup mixture over the warm rice, and gently stir to coat all the grains.

    8

Sprinkle with toasted nuts and serve warm or slightly chilled.
