In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, and chopped parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs and place them on a tray.
In a large skillet, heat one tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. Set them aside.
In the same skillet, heat the remaining olive oil. Add the tomato puree, sugar, and dried oregano. Stir well to combine.
Return the meatballs to the tomato sauce. Cover and simmer over low heat for 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the flavors have melded.
Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with fresh parsley. Serve with spaghetti, boiled potatoes, or fresh bread for dipping.
