In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
Divide the meat into four equal portions and form into patties.
Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat and brush with a little olive oil.
Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until nicely browned.
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and let it melt.
In another skillet, heat 10 ml of olive oil and sauté the finely chopped red onion and garlic until softened.
Add the sliced cremini mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes, until golden brown and juicy.
Halve the hamburger buns and lightly toast them in a dry skillet or on a grill.
Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, then place a lettuce leaf on top.
Place the cheesy patty on top, then spoon over a portion of the sautéed mushrooms.
Add tomato slices and pickle slices, then drizzle with a little mustard.
Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with french fries or a fresh salad.
