Steam the bao buns: Place them in a steamer set over boiling water and steam for 5-6 minutes. Tip: Use parchment paper under the bao buns to prevent them from sticking!
While the bao buns are steaming, prepare the Nutella: If needed, microwave it for a few seconds to make it easier to spread, but don't overheat it, or it might burn or become too runny.
Gently open the softened bao buns, but don't cut them completely in half. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of Nutella into each, making sure the filling is evenly distributed inside.
Serve the Nutella bao buns warm, when the Nutella is still slightly melted. Tip: For an extra creamy effect, you can steam the filled bao buns covered for another minute.
