Nutella naan bread served

Nutella Naan

Nutella is one of the world's most beloved hazelnut spreads, so it's no surprise that it makes a fantastic dessert when stuffed into naan bread. This recipe is a perfect fusion of Eastern flatbread and Western sweetness. As the naan bakes, the hazelnut cream melts slightly inside, providing a silky, chocolatey experience with every bite. The outer dough bakes to a slightly crispy texture, and the butter adds even more flavor and shine. Tip: Always carefully fold the filling so it doesn't leak out during baking. Don't use too much Nutella at once, as it may spill out. This naan is great as a dessert, afternoon snack, or even for breakfast. Serve with a glass of milk or ice cream – a truly special treat!

    Preparation Steps

    1

In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, yeast, sugar, and salt – this will be the base for your naan dough.

    2

Add the yogurt, lukewarm water, and olive oil. Mix well, then knead until you have a smooth and elastic dough, about 10 minutes.

    3

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size. The dough should be light and airy.

    4

Divide the risen dough into 6 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball, then roll it out into an oval shape.

    5

Spread a generous amount of Nutella on one half of the rolled-out naan. Be careful not to spread it to the edges, as it may leak out during cooking.

    6

Fold the other half of the dough over the Nutella, press gently, and then slightly roll it out again to even it out.

    7

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the naans for 1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown spots appear.

    8

While still hot, brush the naans with melted butter – this will give them a silky surface and richer flavor.

    9

Serve immediately. Perfect as a standalone dessert or alongside a cup of milk or coffee.

    10

Tip: If the Nutella is too thick, warm it for a few seconds to make it easier to spread. Do not overheat, as it may make the dough soggy.
