Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a cake pan, then line the bottom with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, mixing well after each addition.
Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and grate in the orange zest, then mix until smooth.
Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined and you have a smooth batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
While the cake is baking, prepare the chocolate glaze: heat the heavy cream until just simmering, then pour it over the finely chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
Let the cake cool completely, then pour the chocolate glaze over it, spreading it evenly.
Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh orange zest or orange slices.
Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving!
