Orange sorbet homemade refreshing dessert

Orange Sorbet

Orange sorbet is a classic Italian dessert inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. The sweet and tangy flavor of orange provides perfect refreshment in this cooling treat. The first sorbets were made in ancient Rome, when honey and fruit juice were added to snow. In the modern version, sugar syrup and fresh orange juice harmoniously balance the flavors, creating a light, icy dessert. Imagine a spoonful of orange sorbet melting in your mouth, cooling and refreshing with every bite!

    Preparation Steps

    1

In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. This should take about 5 minutes.

    2

Zest the orange, then juice it. Strain the juice to remove any seeds or pulp.

    3

Allow the sugar syrup to cool to room temperature. Stir in the orange juice and orange zest.

    4

Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.

    5

Every 30 minutes, scrape the sorbet with a fork to create an icy, crystalline texture. Repeat this process 3-4 times until fully frozen.

    6

Before serving, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for 5 minutes to soften slightly and make it easier to scoop. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
